Guest Designer - Cardz 4 Guyz - Feel Better

Up here in North Dakota, cold and flu season is in full gear. Sniffles and coughs can be heard 'round the clock! I haven't come down with anything yet, but being surrounded by miserable kiddos and grumpy adults has been swell. Poor things!

So when I was asked to guest design at Cardz 4 Guyz for the month of November, and found out the first challenge theme was "Feel Better" I immediately... well... felt better. Now I could color away the problems, right?!

Look at that little guy... isn't he just adorable? In a very-ill sort of way... adorable. ;)
This guy is a digital stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil called Needs Mummy. You may remember that I just did a vintage Christmas card with one of their images, too. I sort of am in love with how cute their stuff is.

Sketch Saturday opened their competition up to ANY past sketch from their gallery to participate in the challenge this week, and so I chose one that caught my eye. Sketch Number 238 if you're counting.

I used a mountain of Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to get him colored up just right.

See - a literal mountain!

But in the end, he turned out oh-so-cuuuuute!

The sentiment is from STAMPlorations Blossom Overture. If somebody doesn't feel better after seeing all this cuteness in one location, welp... they're probably a goner.

I'm also going to send this over to the following challenges:
Try it on Tuesday - Lots of Layers

  11. I can't believe how beautifully you colour in - talk about taking it to the next level! And I have to say, to me he's just a tad Harry Potter-ish....which is just FIIIIINE!!! Love me a Harry every now and then....since I have Tom [hubby] and I ain't gonna mention Dick......sorry.....early morning & a waspish sense of humour.....have a good one yourself...Day, I mean....crumbs. Think I'll stick with poetry from now one. Safer. [winks!]

  13. A mountain of colours to be true, sometimes it feels like I have every Copic out in front of me for just one image lol. (I made a point of not buying every colour, just a few from each family and this mostly works for me although I do get the 'I wants' sometimes... but when they pile up...) Your cute little fella is brilliant and so is your card, congrats on your GD gig!

  28. Hi Becca...The frantage I use is stampdendous Frantage.....the Aged one's, there's a few different colour choices. It's embossing enamel and quite thick so that's why I heat it from underneath to stop it flying away quite so much. I pop on some versamark to try and hold it a little bit but don't tap the enamel off, keep it quite thick. You will get different colours coming through and you will get bits of it on your project, so be aware of that x I popped in the frantage aged enamel in the search engine and there's quite a few stockist...hope this helps?

  33. Oh Becca! He's adorable in a cuddle with mommy sort of way! That's how I felt after granddaughter Avery 'shared' her cold with me, but now it's only the cough remnants that are left! Your coloring and the layout of this card is perfect. He reminds me of my own boys when they were little and not feeling good. This is sure to cheer anyone up, and will definitely make them feel much better. Sooo cute! Bev

  37. Your coloring is spectacular on this Becca!
question, do the fumes from the markers ever make you feel like that little guy looks? I'm having some issues myself..and my youngest says he gets a headache when I'm coloring with them.
