New Big Grins by Becca Cruger Stamps + Giveaway!

Hello my wonderful bloggy friends! I'm so excited to share this post with you because I have three brand new stamp sets available at STAMPlorations under my Big Grins by Becca Cruger line!! And good news! You could win ALL of them. Just leave a comment on this blog and then hop over to STAMPlorations blog to leave a comment there, too!

You all know I love me a good snarky stamp set, and both Sweet and Sassy Dad & Snarky Cap and Gown deliver on those fronts.

I don't know about you, but I have a Papa who is the KING of dad jokes. You know the kind... knee-slapping groaners. This sentiment definitely "celebrates" those terrible puns.

But never fear! I also brought on a plethora of sweet sentiments to go along with the snark.

I also drew some inspiration from Time Out Challenges and cased the layout of Cornelia's lovely card for my own design.

Cornelia's Card:

My Design

Next up is a design for Snarky Cap & Gown. When I was going through grad season this year, I realized I didn't have one (not a single one) graduation set in my stash and it was really hard to find something that was exactly what I wanted. So I made one!

Snarky Cap & Gown has some tame sentiments, like the one used above, but it also brings on a little bit of the sass.

Lastly, I want to show off Wonderful Life. It's filled with beautiful sentiments that are perfect all year round, but I love the summery potential this set has and can't wait to play around with it!

I watercolored up some of the sketchy rainbows and used the big ol' sentiment to create a bright and cheery design. When it was all done, I added a paper butterfly that came from my hoard of embellishments that were given to me by my grandma.

I'm going to let this card play along in the Cards Und More Holidays/Summertime Fun challenge. And the CAS Watercolor Challenge - Butterfly.

Perfection.

Pssssttttt... If you're thinking about it, now is TOTALLY the time to head on over to the STAMPlorations shop and use the code STAMPGIRLBECCA to snag them for 20% off the price.

Make sure to leave a comment on the STAMPlorations blog for double your chances to win! :)

Baseball Father's Day Card

Father's Day is quickly approaching and I've been getting some orders from clients that have definitely made me stretch my creative muscles with "man cards".

One of my clients asked for a baseball themed card. Since I didn't have any baseball stamps in my stash, it was time to get crafty.

I want to warn you, this card is HIGHLY technical and may not be able to be accomplished by the average card maker.

Step one: Use a paper plate and a pen to trace a curved line

Can you hear me giggling now? hehe HIGHLY technical.
Once I had the perfect curvature traced, I cut it out with some scissors.

Next, I used some little sketchy chevron shapes from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Gruge set to emboss the read threading on my "baseball"

I completed the look with a sentiment from the BOLD SENTIMENTS: Hashtag Authentic set and stamped DAD with the Sketchy Alphabet set.

Taaaadaaaa! I'm quite pleased with it.

This is a good time to tell you that we're midway through the month at the STAMPlorations Theme and Sketch challenge and you should go play. You can use either the sketch, or the theme, OR both! So many options!

I'm also going to play along in some of the other fun challenges going on in the blogosphere including:

CASology - Masculine theme
The Male Room - Father's Day

Father's Day Cards

Is it too early to be making Father's Day cards? I think not. I am finally getting ahead of the game!

I always have trouble with masculine cards, so beefing up my stock of Father's Day cards has proven to be a challenge. I'm in the market for some new stamp sets geared towards the un-fairer sex, so would love to know what YOUR favorite man-friendly stamp set is.

Father's Day Card

I also always mean to play in the DCWV Stackaholic challenge and this month I'm FINALLY remembering. I have a snap ton of their paper stacks and whenever I use patterned paper they are my go-to. They have a sketch for scrapbookers, and one for cardmakers.

This is the cardmaker's sketch:

I used papers from the DCWV Mod-Retro Stack and from a Premium Paper Stack (that's what the corrugated striped paper is). I stamped a sentiment from a Penny Black Set and embossed a Tim Holtz truck with Rusty Metal embossing powder to complete the look.
