Hello Friends!
I am popping in to share a card I designed for The Card Concept's new challenge.
I jumped up and down and up and down when I got my Distress Oxides in the mail and I had a first initial play around with them. I'm planning to do a detailed tutorial sometime within the next week of all the various techniques and give a full review - so stay tuned!
I started by doing a sponging and spritzing Distress technique using Tumbled glass Distress Inks and Cracked Pistatchio Distress Oxide Inks.
I should probably have started by saying my colors were pulled from the inspiration image for The Card Concept's new challenge. Isn't it puuuurty?
I also loved the style lines in that image, so I wanted to do a curved blue in the background of my card.
Next, I created a mixture of greens and amber and used a die cut to create teeny daisies. I stamped and watercolored a jar using the STAMPlorations VIGNETTE: Eclectic Florals set and then I glued and put things together.
The sentiment is from my Strong Women stamp set. As you can see, I also used a die cut from Stampin' Up to create a die cut in the background, too.
I'm going to link this up to:

Thanks for stopping by.
By the way - if you're looking for some more inspiration, I'm up on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog today showing off how to stamp on coffee mugs! Go check it out!

Looking forward to your review of the Oxides; I haven't bought any yet as I wanted to know what other stamps thought of them. Love your take on the Card Concept. Such pretty colors, and you've used them so delightfully! Your smooshing and those daisies are gorgeous. Love the whole look of your pretty card. Have a great week!! Bev

ReplyDeleteOh... well, your promise of distress oxide inks finally made sign up for email notifications...lol! I don't know what took me so long, but I really don't stop by often enough so now I am positive I will be reminded and enticed and I do not want to miss your review for sure!

ReplyDeleteSo far I'm resisting the new inks, but love seeing how you used them, Becca--beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteLove the card, love the sentiment, and I love that coffee cup! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat card Becca! I love the swooping lines you created - I didn't even noticed that in the inspiration photo until you mentioned it - had to go back and have a look. And those inks - they're definitely on my NEED LIST - everything costs so much more when you have to ship it to Canada and pay the exchange but those inks will be worth it.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful vase and daisies, Becca!!!!! Love the wavy die cut panel and the colours of your oxides are soooooo beautiful!!!! Wonderful sentiment and a lovely CAS feel to your card!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!!!
