Mad Hatter Tea Party Card

All the best people are bonkers! I've never identified with a Disney phrase more than I have that one, which was spouted by the Mad Hatter in Alice and Wonderland.

Visible Image just unveiled a whole new Wonderland stamp line featuring Alice in Wonderland characters and they're all so much fun.

I got to have a play with The Mad Hatter set and, as you can see, added some googly eyes for the full crazy effect.

I stamped and masked Mr. Hatter so that I could add some of the crazy laughter to the background.

Ensue laughter stamps. And more laughter stamps. I went a little overboard haha!

Next, I used some Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to color in my image and smudged up my outside edges with black Faber Castell Gelatos.

I added a sentiment phrase using the same set, and some pretty patterned paper to match - glued on the googly eyes and viola! One crazy mad hatter.

Thanks for popping by! Make sure to go check out the full Wonderland release and prepare to be amazed!

Coffee Lover's Blog Hop - Day 1!

>insert music notes here<
It's the most wonderful tiiiiiime of the year!
>end music notes<

I know you all didn't come here to get some Christmas songs stuck in your head, but that's just a little bit of a side bonus of knowing me (you're welcome).

If you're in the cardmaking blogosphere at all today, you're going to quickly realize that it's been taken over by caffeine-crazed dynamos who love to bust out those stamping blocks and make some cards. The brainchild of the ever fabulous Amy Tsurata and Chaitali Narla -  it's the Fall Coffee Lover's Blog Hop

To celebrate fall, my card features all the warm, rich reds, oranges and yellows of the season. I created my background using the Distress Ink Double Dipping technique

I stamped some leaves from the STAMPlorations Trendy Leaves stamp set in the background.

And you can see I also brought them into the foreground too! My big ol' coffee mug is from the STAMPlorations Sketchy Coffee Cups.

PSSTTTT - if you are looking for some new coffee stamps, you can get 20% off in the STAMPlorations store by using code STAMPGIRLBECCA at checkout.

Now don't let me keep you! Go check out the rest of the hop and make sure to stop by all of our AMAZING sponsors for the Fall Coffee Lover's Blog Hop

If you want to win one of a ka-bajillion prizes (I may be exaggerating a little, but it's close) go link up a Fall-themed coffee/tea/cocoa card. Do it! Right now! Why are are still reading this? You should be linking up a coffee card!

Cozy Cocoa Card - Valentines Day

I know Valentine's Day is a ways away, but it's also my fave card-gifting holiday, so I like to start on lovey dovey mushy gushy cards waaay early.

Today I'm up on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog showcasing two adorably cozy designs I made using Sunny Studios Mug Hugs stamp set. You should totally pop over there and check out the second design because it's equally as squeal-worthy.

My design was inspired by the latest sketch challenge from Sketch Saturday. I'm also going to send this over to play along in Eclectic Ellapu's anything goes challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Add a Sentiment challenge.

Don't you just love those plaid papers? So fleepin' cute!

I hope you'll pop on over to the Coffee Loving Papercrafters blog to leave a little comment and see my other design!

Happy Monday!

I'm BACK! With a Thank You Card.

Hello Friendly Friends! I am BACKKKKK! Thank you all for your kindness and understanding as I took a short bloggy break to deal with personal things. Sometimes.. ya just gotta.

I'm back in action with a bright and fun card I designed for the new STAMPlorations theme & sketch challenge

The theme for this month's challenge is Stamps & Family, but I chose to use the sketch for my design.

I stamped a bunch of those funky flowers from the Trendy Spring Blooms set in black ink and then colored them with lots of GLITTER!!!!

I just found these Spectrum Noir Sparkle Markers at Michael's for 70 percent off.... so naturally I had to take them for a test drive.

Once everything was colored, I did some fussy cutting and added some fun gemstone and enamel dot centers to some of my flowers.

I used a serious of sentiments from the Trendy Feathers 2 stamp set and created a text pattern for my background.

And just like that - a card was born!

If you liked any of the stamps you saw me use in today's card... have I ever got good news for you: You can get them for 20% off in the STAMPlorations shop by using code STAMPGIRLBECCA at checkout. Woop woop!

It feels good to be back in action! I hope you all will go play along with this month's challenge so I can oooogle some sweet designs.

You are Amazing - Winnie & Walter Rerun Challenge

I'm really excited to participate in the Winnie & Walter Rerun challenge this go-round because I actually own the stamp set they're featuring for once! Wooo! (Not that you need the stamp set to play along in this awesome challenge - you can also CASE one of the designers cards, so get your butts over there to play!)

They are showing off the In Bloom: Renee's Leaves stamp set and I got wicked excited to pull it out and play. I maaaaaay have mentioned this a time or two before but I LOVE Fall and thought these leaves would be the perfect chance to get my autumnal coloring skills on.

I began by stamping one leaf, cutting a mask and then masking and layering and masking and layering.

Whole lotta masking. Whole lotta stamping.

I colored my image in using various tones of Spectrum Noir markers and then layered some circular shapes, used some hints of gold foiled paper and added teensy sequins.
The sentiment is from my Strong Women stamp set.

I'm also going to play along in

Thanks for popping by!

Mixed Media Harvest Blessings Card

Ahhhhhhhh September. Pumpkin Spice Lattes return to the land of all things good. The smell of apples is in the air. You can take deep breaths and inhale.... Cough* Cough* OUCH! That was a wasp.

Seriously - up here in North Dakota, you can't walk 2 steps without encountering one of the stingalicious flymobiles - and breathing deeply is done at your own peril.

Autumn is my most favoritest season, though, and I can't wait to become a boots-sportin', PSL-guzzling, sweater-wearing gal again.

Over at the Mixed Media Card Challenge, we are celebrating Autumn in fine fashion with our new challenge.

Our theme this month is Harvest Basket with the optional element of Fruit.

For my creation, I inked up a stamp that has been beckoning me since I bought it last Fall. It's a gorgeous autumn basket from the STAMPlorations HOLIDAY EXPRESSIONS: Thankful for Autumn set.

I'm sorry I don't have my usual process photos to show off - I actually made this background a while ago when I was just putzing around having some messy fun in my room.

I can tell you the process, though.
  1. Sponge a mixture of Mustard Seed and Fossilized Amber Distress Inks on a sheet of cardstock
  2. Ink up a grungy-looking stamping with Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks and randomly plop that baby onto the sponged paper.
  3. Apply gold texture paste through a stencil in random areas around the edges.

My image was colored with Spectrum Noir Makers and Distress Markers and then I embossed the sentiment on a sheet of vellum.

I'm going to link my Harvest beauty up to:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Anything Goes
Crafty Gals Corner - Anything Goes
Little Red Wagon - Lets Get Inky
