If you now have "Part of Your World" stuck in your head, sorry not sorry. It's a great song, especially when sung at the top of your lungs in the shower.
This week over at Crafty Gals Corner, we're making cards based on movies. We got to work with some images from Sassy Studio Designs and I am working with one called Little Mermaid Pinup.
My sister is named Ariel. And yes, it's actually after The Little Mermaid. My parents never had names definitively picked out for any of us. I could have been a Victoria or a Crystal. My birth papers in the hospital said Baby Doe because my parents went back and forth before landing on Rebecca.
The legends stay that the morning my sister was born, my parents couldn't agree on a name and went round and round until my brother, who had just been watching The Little Mermaid, walked in and suggested Ariel.
But back to the card,
I put tons and tons of sparkle into this card There are 4 layers of glitter paper!! And once it was done I was suitably jealous of her apparent warmth.
I'm also going to enter this into the following challenges:
Cupcake Inspirations - Sparkle
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Special Lady/Girly
Clear it Out Challenge - Anything Goes
Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes
Die Cut Divas - Spring/Children
Creative Craft Cottage - Use a digi and a sentiment
Crafting for All Seasons - Girly Girl - use a die
Doodle Pantry - Anything Goes with a Digi
Bitten by the Bug 2 - Use a Cartridge you haven't used in a long time (the wave border)
Cheerful Sketches Challenge - Thanks for the great sketch
What's your favorite movie? Make a card inspired by it and link it up over at Crafty Gals Corner!
We've got an awesome prize!!
Prize: 4 Images
She is a lovely image Becca and the waves in the foreground such a clever idea.

Definitely sassy! Love how you built your scene, the waves are brilliant!
ReplyDeleteShe's just lovely, and look, she's got legs. Actually my favorite movie is "The King's Speech" (Colin Firth make my heart happy). Unfortunately, it doesn't transfer well into a feminine card. I saw your entry over at SSS Wednesday challenge. After saying, "I know her", had to drop in to say how girlie you card is . Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

Hi, Becca.
ReplyDeleteI have just discovered that I did not get the e-mails to inform me of your posts for quite some time now!! When I start following blogs I join as a member so that you see my photo there and you know I have joined, but at the same time I also subscribe via e-mail, cause that is how I follow blogs at this stage. But for some reason I haven't got the e-mails of you posts lately. I tried to submit my e-mail address again and it said that I am already subscribed, so I don't know what went wrong for me to not get the e-mails. I hope that this will not happen again!!! I have visited all your posts that I have missed, now and enjoyed all your work!!!! Will see if I get the e-mails now!!!
Have a lovely Friday and enjoy the weekend!!!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful story, my husband and I had a hard time deciding on a boy's name for our 6th son. After a couple of days and the nurse asking why we hadn't named him yet we finally came up with a name that suit us both. Your parent certainly where alone in that, I suspect it happens more than we know. lol I love, love your card. The image is awesome and I love how it is colored. Thanks for joining us at BBTB2 ;-)
